Tattoo artist & Model Lisa Mitrokhin

As an artist I create the world I live in, on so many levels. When it comes down to physical things, I make my own clothes, cut my own hair, and of course, ink my own tattoos. It seems as natural to me as brushing my own teeth or dressing myself. By now the idea of having to rely on someone else for personal maintenance seems absurd to me.
Art has always been a huge part of my life. I started drawing at the age of three, and have been drawing, painting, or otherwise creating something visual every day ever since. My latest fetish is the art of tattoos. Several years ago I picked up a tattoo gun, and am now a licensed artist. I do only commissioned pieces for select clients. Having already worked in studios I have come to realize that I have a much higher appreciation for this art form than the likes of people who allow their clients to pick “bumper sticker tattoos” from books and posters. My gift is visualizing concepts and passions that people express to me. These are very personal concepts and deserve to be depicted in a unique way, and not insulted by mainstream images that thousands of other people around the world also wear. All the tattoos on my body have stories behind them. All the tattoos that I have made for my clients are as unique as the people wearing them. Tattoos are reflections of what is our hearts. My job is to deliver those images as truthfully and beautifully as possible.
I live and work mainly in New York City, but I have a personal studio in Europe as well. Traveling is also a huge part of my life, so there is no telling where I’ll be next. Thankfully, I can work anywhere that there are people who appreciate art.
I welcome you to visit my website to get a closer look at me and my art.
